Born in San Francisco, California, Vanessa Candy Tong (notably known as 'Candy') is a professional dancer and model based in Manhattan, New York. Along with dance, Candy developed an early love for the arts and fashion in her childhood when she first started getting awards and recognition for her drawings and paintings. That love would grow and continue as she moved from everyday sketches to designing outfits for herself.

Notably known for her combination of edgy yet elegant style, Candy has always been recognized for her eye-catching pieces. She has even caught the attention from Pointe Magazine and Dance Informa about her studio to street pieces to name a few. Ever since a little girl, Miss Tong has dreamt having her own clothing line; little did she know she would be creating it from scratch during a pandemic.

Her collection is heavily inspired by the nights in large metropolitan cities around the world-- New York, Shanghai, London to name a few. Candy grew tired of wearing the ideal "look"— plain, pretty, and dainty leotards to work. So much that she casually switched to swimwear and everyday bodysuits to rehearsals and photoshoots. This eventually caught the eye of a few dance spectators wondering as to why Candy hadn't start her own line... thus the beginnings of Candy Tong Collection.
